Have you ever felt that no matter how much you read and study the Bible you can just never take in all of it? For me it seems as if the more I know the more I realize that I don’t know. Today’s reading magnifies those feelings in me. I have read the story of Melchizedek in Genesis 14:18-24 numerous times. Yet how often I have missed how the life of Melchizedek illuminates the life of Jesus and the nature of His priesthood? Too often! By God’s grace, Hebrews 7 makes the connection for us.

sWon’t you join with me to look for those connection between the Old Testament and the New Testament as we travel from Romans to Revelation? If you are on the lookout for them you will see how they not only are literally on every page of scripture but provide insight, illustration, and instruction concerning the person and work of our Lord.
