Heaven seems to be a place that echoes with loud, continuous worship. So, when there is silence, it seems as if a sense of fear and foreboding fills the heavenly dwelling place of God, the Lamb, and the saints. Chapter 8 begins by saying that there was silence in heaven, signaling that something big is coming.
In this morning’s reading the first four trumpet judgments descend on the earth. Incredible devastation is the result. May we be emboldened to share the good news of salvation now so that the elect of God may respond in faith.
