Salvation is costly. It is never cheap. Yet, we don’t pay the price of securing salvation. That price was paid by Jesus. The cost was His blood. That is the sobering reality of today’s reading in Hebrews chapter 9. The sobering reality also has a joyous outcome. The price paid for our salvation by Jesus is completely sufficient. There is nothing else to be paid. No other debt that is owed. Nothing we must do but trust Him. Since the price Jesus paid is completely sufficient we must not look anywhere else for salvation but to Jesus alone.
