dIn Revelation Chapter 3 John continues to record “the things that are”. That is, the then current conditions in seven representative churches. Representative in what way? I think these churches were picked out because the contain a set of conditions, both great and tragic, that exist in all churches all the time until the Lord returns. No doubt, as you read chapters 2 and 3 you have seen things that you have witnessed in churches you have been involved in. In light of this our challenge is to follow Jesus’ example. Warn of problems, recognize and be thankful for the good things, and provide a Biblical way forward when the church is going astray.
By the way, sorry I am posting this a day late. I had baby-sitting duty yesterday. Twin two-year-olds and a 5 year old all took over the house and my life yesterday! Nevertheless, to paraphrase Gloria Gaynor, I survived!
