This is a short book. Only 13 verses. Yet, it is packed with an important exhortation to the church, stand firm in truth and love. Those two things must go together. Truth without love sometimes is perverted into legalism. Truth without love is always ineffective. Love without truth descends into mere sentimentality. Love without truth leads to lawlessness and, in our day, theological, anything goes, liberalism. It is by standing in the truth and in love that the church is preserved and the individual Christian thrives.

Hi, I am Dan Starcevich. I am a husband, father, and grandfather. I live in one of the most beautiful places on earth, Estes Park Colorado. Not only do I run TheoFaith but I also serve as a professor at Tyndale Theological Seminary and Bible Institute. I wasn’t always a theologian. I was in the United States Army for almost 10 years then spent 30 years in the Aerospace and Defense industry. Thanks to the support of my wife I was also able to get degrees from Hawaii Pacific University (B.S.), The University of Southern California (M.S.), Dallas Theological Seminary (Thm.), and Tyndale Theological Seminary (PhD.).
