The church is to be centered in Jesus and His word. In fact, the main work of the church is the to make God known through the teaching of His word. His word is not only inerrant and infallible but completely sufficient for all the church needs. Elders are to be sound in the doctrines of the faith, hold firm to the word, and instruct others. So, it is no surprise that one of the urgent tasks Paul assigns to Titus is to teach. In Titus chapter 2 Paul commands Titus to teach sound doctrine to the old and young, men and women. In other words, the whole church is to be taught the word of God.

My prayer for you is that you are in a church where the word of God is taught with passion and clarity. The Lord has told us who is to lead the church and what they are to do. If you are a leader may you re-double your effort to be a sound teacher. If you are not, may the Lord bless you with a church that is led by those who know what the Lord has called them to do.
